    When sweetening the posicle mass you actually need to clearly oversweeten it, since when food is eaten ice cold, you actually taste the sugar less.

    Always enjoying your videos! Just wondering whether you can upload more educational videos like this one and Rias Baixas videos. Such videos would be really helpful for those who are interested in and studying wine (like me)!     You neglected to mention the New York State Finger Lakes Region. Another point is that cool climate wines generally come from grapevines genetically engineered for cooler climates. They tend to be hybrids of American & European grapevines.

    Thank you for this Ms. Blisson. I knew about Rieslings as a go to for a lower alcohol wine, but I wasn’t familiar with the other white wines you mentioned. And I’d often wondered if lower alcohol red wine was a thing. You’ve answered my questions!

      There are great sweet, low alcohol wines at all price points from Germany, especially the Riesling variety. Ask store staff the sweetness level. If you like very aromatic white wines, Moscato is generally quite sweet.

    It's not alcohol no one gets beer headaches unless hungover. Wine headache doesn't require even getting drunk.

      Thanks for watching. You are right. As I explain in the video, there are people who get wine headaches from various other factors, including chemicals produced during wine's fermentation such as histamines, tyramines, etc. We just can't discount the fact that alcohol can also be the cause.

      It is one of the castros. These are native pre-Roman hillfort settlements from the Iron Age. There are quite a few in the area. I believe this one is the castro of Santa Trega in the municipality of A Guarda.

    Great topic, and Great Content.. How would you define too much acid? in my mind "acid" seems " pungent". but does not startle? IF there's too much acid, can the wine be adjusted by adding water? Like to hear your prospective on this. Thank U

      Hi Mindy. For me, acidity is too high when it makes your whole mouth pucker and you feel like you might get heartburn if you have more than a glass. In some wine regions, water can be added but is mainly done to lower alcohol levels. Other regions prohibit water additions in winemaking.

      Hi. Thanks for checking out this Jura wine film! I am not quite sure what you mean by your comment. There are English subtitles throughout. Are you disappointed that we filmed the French winemaker interviews in French? I don't see why this would be an issue but my apologies if that bothers you. The winemakers don't all speak perfect English. We were able to have much more in-depth conversations this way, giving viewers a greater wealth of detail on the region.

      Hello. Thanks for watching and for your question. Alcohol brings both a faint sweetness, which is often perceived more as a roundness on the palate, and subtle bitterness as well.

      Hi Michael, thanks very much for watching and for your comment. Are you referring to ageing duration? The consorzio rules are as follows: for the Brunello di Montalcino tier, wines can be released as of January 1st of the fifth year after harvesting. For the Riserva tier, the ageing requirement is one year longer (sixth year after harvest). I hope this helps!

      @@JackyBlisson with harvest generally being in Sep-October, a January 1st release would mean the wine would be 4 years and 3 months old. Personally I consider this to be 4 years old (in the same way a child who is 4 years and 3 months old is considered to be a 4 year old).

    I been drinking 2 glasses a night sometimes 3 for a while but lately I do get a headache after 5 hours after so I wake up with headache . Weird... maybe I should stop for a couple of days? Thanks for your video.

      Unfortunately, our bodies ability to process alcohol can get sluggish if we don't take a couple of days off a week to let the liver recover. See if that helps. I always try to drink less but better! Thanks for watching.
